HI, I’M REBECCA.

I'm an reporter, writer, and editor with an interest in community engagement and audience development. You can find my work in New York Magazine, The Guardian, Rolling Stone, New York Focus, The Daily Beast, and Hell Gate, among other outlets. You can hear me discussing my reporting on the censorship of journalism in New York prisons on Radio Catskill here. I am a contributing writer at Offrange, where I cover agriculture and food systems.

I’m currently working with The Marshall Project as a Dow Jones News Fund audience engagement intern, and pursuing a MA at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY.

Previously, I worked as managing editor of the ACLU’s Communications Department, where I oversaw the News and Commentary section and other editorial projects.

I have a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Iowa, where I focused on nonfiction writing, and New York has been my home base for more than a decade.
